Upper Sixth Pupil leads the annual Santa Lucia Service

Upper Sixth pupil Lucy Sapwell led the procession of 'Ex Cathedra and its Academy of Vocal Music' at Birmingham Cathedral last week, where she was 'Lucia' in their annual Santa Lucia Service.
The 18th Century Georgian surroundings were delightful and many Swedes were in the congregation for a traditional service from their homeland.
Lucy, wearing a crown of four candles on her head, sang several beautiful solos in both English and Swedish. It was a great honour for Lucy (and the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ) to take a leading role at such a prestigious civic service. Afterwards she was guest of honour at the Swedish Consulate. Lucy will sing solo at the start of both Carol Services tomorrow.
